You may contact me anytime with questions by clicking the green Contact Me button at the bottom right of your screen.
THE ITEM I WANT IS “SOLD OUT”. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
All of my items are one-of-a-kind, as upcycled materials are used primarily in my process. Once they are used up, that’s usually it forever! If you see something you like, however, I'm pretty darn good at making a close match. If you’re looking for a specific size or color scheme, your best bet is to create a custom order. Once I get an idea of what you’re looking for, we can come up with a plan and create your piece. You may also want to signup for my mailing list to stay updated on newly released products, and connect with me on Instagram to see what I’m working on and possibly claim it even before it goes up for sale!
WHAT IS BANDED VS JEWELED PATTERN?
Some of my listings refer to patterns. Specifically stair treads, but I can do banded or jeweled on any rug. Jeweled is what I call my normal technique where the colors are scattered here and there in no particular order. That's what makes the rugs so unique! However if you're looking for the more traditional 'braided rug' look in bands of color from the center outward, I can do that, too. That's what I call the banded pattern. If you are still unclear on what each pattern looks like, you can take a look at the stair treads listing for an image explaining the differences, or contact me and I'll do my best to answer your questions.
DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?
Yes I will certainly ship anywhere in the world! Please note that shipping anywhere outside the United States can be costly, depending on the size of the item ordered. You are responsible for all shipping fees, as well as any taxes or customs fees that your country may charge upon pickup. Red Gypsy Bohemian and Jeannie Pitt are not responsible for any additional fees you may incur once the package has shipped.
WHEN CAN I EXPECT TO RECEIVE MY ITEM?
Ready to Ship items are shipped out within 3-5 business days of your order. Custom orders can take 2-3 weeks to complete.
WHAT ARE THE STANDARD SIZES OF YOUR PRODUCTS?
Most of my products can be made any size. Below is a table for reference. Usually any size in between is possible.
Coasters – 4 to 5 inches
Mats – 9 inches to 24 inches
Round Rugs – 2 feet, 3 feet, 4 feet, 5 feet
***note: 5 feet diameter is currently the maximum size I can create with my studio setup
Stair Treads – normally around 6-9 inches wide x 14-42 inches long
Mats – up to 32 inches in length
Rugs – up to 60 inches in length
Bowls and Baskets:
Bowls – 4 inch diameter base, 3 inch height
Baskets – 8 inch diameter base, 4-5 inch height
Pet Baskets – 13 inch diameter base, 5-6 inch height
WHAT MATERIALS ARE USED IN YOUR CREATIONS?
About 95% of my materials come from once-loved, gently used clothing. I use all types of materials including cotton, polyester and blends. Occasionally, I will use store bought fabric in order to reproduce an item, such as my rainbow products. I also may, at times, incorporate vintage or second-hand fabric yardage and other materials that I discover in my travels.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE A RUG?
Of course, the amount of time it takes to make a Red Gypsy Bohemian creation depends on the size. There are several stages to the creation process and each can take between 15 minutes and up to 20 hours.
- Deciding on a color scheme and design
- Locating all matching and contrasting materials to complete the project
- Cutting all material to prepare for sewing
- Wrapping and Sewing
- Finishing touches and packaging
ARE YOUR PRODUCTS MACHINE WASHABLE?
Most products are machine washable, though a larger piece may not fit in a standard size washing machine. Since the majority of my products are made from recycled clothing that has been washed multiple times prior to use, you should be able to safely machine wash, spot clean or dampen the materials. Only use cleaning products that are safe for clothing or similar materials. And once you remove your item from the washing machine, you may need to tug and reshape before drying flat. I do not recommend placing the item in the dryer. Steam cleaning may also be a suitable option for larger pieces.
A better option may be to spot clean or hand wash your item in the sink.
If you have bought an item from the 'New Fabrics' category, I would no recommend machine washing. If you have questions, you're welcome to contact me.
DO YOU OFFER WHOLESALE OR CONSIGNMENT?
I do not currently offer wholesale, consignment or dropshipping arrangements.
